Have Police knocked on your door to serve you with an application for a protection order? This can be quite daunting. You may not even have been aware that an application was being sought against you.
We can help you with what to say and what not to say to Police when you are being served with an application. If you have already been served and have to go to court, we can help you with advice on whether you should consent to the application or contest the application. ​​​​
Do Police want to speak with you about a breach of a protection order?
If you are already a respondent to a protection order and Police want to speak to you about a breach, you need to speak to us before speaking with Police. Unlike an application for a protection order, a breach of a protection order is actually a criminal matter. The court takes breaches of protection orders very seriously and it is important to seek advice before speaking with Police.

As well as dealing with the breach, the court may also vary the existing protection order. This may include adding extra conditions as well as extending the protection order.
